This is a staple in our family! My kids loved it and quickly devoured the leftovers the next morning!

There’s something so comforting about a classic potato au gratin, especially when it’s baked with crispy bacon and a creamy cheese sauce. This dish has its roots in French cuisine, but it’s become a beloved staple in many American households. It’s perfect for family gatherings or a cozy dinner at home. The combination of tender potatoes, savory bacon, and gooey cheese is sure to please even the pickiest eaters.
This bacon and potato au gratin pairs beautifully with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables like broccoli or green beans. For a heartier meal, serve it alongside roasted chicken or a juicy steak. A warm, crusty bread would also be a delightful addition to soak up the creamy sauce.
