1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing until fully incorporated.
Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Using a tablespoon, scoop dough and roll into balls. Place them onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each ball.
Lightly press down on each ball with a fork to create a small pattern and flatten them slightly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
